UNLEASHING THE VALUE OF PERSONAL DATA

The European Privacy Association (EPA) has evolved over time to now offer forward-looking studies which enhance data protection and data security while ensuring the sustainability, grow and and innovation which are vital to the new and current businesses.
EPA is in the process of renewing its Scientific Committee which is the true driving force of our organization, aiding in our research activities and helping us to further the scientific exploration and elaboration of privacy, personal data, and data security matters.


Ludovic PETIT
– Cyber Security Officer Huawei France – Senior professional with global knowledge and experience of corporate security, cybercrime and fraud management in the Telecommunications and the IT industry, Ludovic PETIT joined HUAWEI France as Chief Security Officer in 2013, and spent the last 15 years working as Chief Information Security Officer and various management positions covering both technical and law enforcement expertise for SFR, 2nd French largest Mobile Telecommunications Operators, after 15 years in the IT industry as a senior consultant. Ludovic PETIT is Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Telecommunications Fraud Specialist (CTFS), Fellow, European Privacy Association and member of the Policy and Scientific Committee, member of the European Expertise & Expert Institute, and is serving as a recognized and trusted professional at the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Foundation as Chapter Leader OWASP France.
Ludovic PETIT represents Huawei on standards organization, public bodies and to legislators, interfaces with law enforcement and other national or international authorities, and represents Huawei at public conferences.

Kuan-Ching Li is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at the Providence University, Taiwan. He was a department chair in 2009, the Special Assistant to the University President since 2010, and appointed as Vice-Dean for Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs in this same university since 2014. Dr. Li is recipient of several awards and fundings from abroad and Taiwan, as also recipient of guest professorships from universities in China. He serves/has served on the chairmanship positions of several conferences and workshops, and has organized numerous conferences related to high-performance computing and computational science & engineering. Dr. Li is the Editor-in-Chief of technical publications International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering (IJCSE), International Journal of Embedded Systems (IJES) and International Journal of High Performance Computing and Networking (IJHPCN), all published by Inderscience, also serving a number of journal’s editorial boards and guest editorship. His topics of interest include networked computing, GPU computing, parallel software design, and performance evaluation and benchmarking. Dr. Li is a Fellow of the IET and a senior member of the IEEE.

Daniele Catteddu, is the Managing Director, EMEA, at Cloud Security Alliance, where he is responsible for the definition and execution of the company strategy in EU, Middle East and Africa. He also the Director of the CSA Open Certification Framework / STAR Program. Daniele leads definition and implementation of the CSA research agenda in Europe and manages the relations with European public institutions and is member of the CSA International Standardization Council. In past he worked at ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency), as Expert in areas of Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) and Emerging and Future Risks Management, and in particular, having a leading role in developing EU cloud security research. Before joining ENISA, Daniele worked as an Information Security consultant in the banking and financial sector. Daniele is author of numerous studies and papers on Risk Management, Governance and Cyber Security, e.g.: “Security and Resilience in Governmental Clouds”, “Cloud Computing: Benefits, risks and recommendations for information security” and “Cloud Computing: Information Assurance Framework”. He is member of various national and international security expert groups on cyber-security security and privacy, and keynote speaker at several conferences. Daniele graduated from the University of Parma (Italy) in Business Administration and Economics, and he is an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Brian Honan is an independent security consultant based in Dublin, Ireland, and is also the founder and head of IRISSCERT, Ireland’s first CERT. He is a Special Advisor to Europol’s Cybercrime Centre (EC3), an expert advisor to ENISA, and an adjunct lecturer on Information Security in University College Dublin. He is the author of the book ISO 27001 in a Windows Environment and co-author of The CSA Guide to Cloud Computing and The Cloud Security Rules. He is a regular speaker at major industry conferences. In 2013 Brian was awarded SC Magazine Information Security Person of the year for his contribution to the computer security industry

Aleksandra Auleytner, Scientific Committee Member of the European Privacy Association. Aleksandra is specialised in intangible rights, copyright law, industrial property law, and new technologies and e-commerce law and advises technology sector companies, especially on implementation, maintenance and other agreements typical of the IT sector, advertising agencies, TV stations, food and clothing manufacturers, and e-shop operators; participates in broadband network infrastructure construction projects and e-health projects; advises in proceedings over goods that infringe intellectual property rights being admitted to customs area and specialises in selected aspects of EU law dealing with state aid issues.

Rosario Imperiali – member of the “Order of Lawyers in Milan”, is committed to understanding the issues that technology may cause in the legal aspect. He is an Italian lawyer, co-founder of Studio Legale Imperiali and writes as a journalist in various Italian newspapers. In the 80’s he founded and directed the Legal research Office of IBM Italy, a privileged “think tank” related to such topics.
With over 12 years of experience in a group of professional lawyers, whom collaborate in Imperiali Group’s Legal Offices, Mr. Imperiali is author of monographs about privacy, technology and law. He also anchors a web television channel “CompetenceTV” on the YouTube platform.
As a public law expert, he is director of The Work Style Magazine, an international magazine discussing topics regarding the future of employment. He is editorialist of “Il Sole 24 Ore” and “Il Denaro”. Furthermore, he intervenes on many daily newspapers and national and international magazines.
