Survey on Internet Users’ Willingness to Provide Personal Information for Personalization – Your participation is needed!

Dear Sir / Madam,

We are undertaking a study to explore Internet users’ willingness to provide personal information for personalization.  The objectives of the study are:

·      To understand the impact of personal disposition and contextual factors to Internet users’ evaluation of privacy concern;

·      To identify and analyze Internet users’ response to personal information request for personalization;

·      To analyze the effectiveness of privacy countermeasures implemented by organizations in mitigating Internet users’ privacy concerns; and

·      To analyze and compare Internet users’ evaluation of privacy concern and willingness to provide personal information for personalization among different countries.

You are invited to participate in this study that is being conducted by the Department of Management & Marketing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  To contribute to this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey which will take you around 20 minutes.  All information will be de-identified for all analysis and be kept strictly confidential.  The findings will be presented in aggregated form only and no individual or organization will be identified in our project.
